In 2019,
We will practice education using the already developed Japanese version of SPOC (Small Private Online Course) teaching materials. Learning Analytics (LA) is used to identify problems in the teaching material content, solve and improve them, and identify problems in the browsing system itself to solve and improve them. In addition, we will develop MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) teaching materials based on the English version of SPOC teaching materials. Furthermore, we will design and develop serious game teaching materials for security education mainly on the Indian side.

WP5 | Implementation report

Educational practice and Web teaching material system using Japanese version SPOC teaching materials

We plan to practice education using the already developed Japanese version of SPOC (Small Private Online Course) teaching materials, and practice through WP6 exercises. Therefore, before the educational practice, we tried to enhance the contents of the teaching materials. First, we created a short video summarizing the research results of other WP1 to WP4 so far, and used it as a presentation material at the time of the interim evaluation of this WP. In addition, research results are being made into teaching material contents.

Next, based on the Japanese version of SPOC, we plan to develop an English version of SPOC with the cooperation of the Indian side and practice education within each university in the partner country. Similarly, we plan to provide students with a Web teaching material browsing system compatible with ePub, implement LA (Learning Analytics), improve the teaching material content from the browsing data of the teaching material, and further improve the browsing system itself.

On the other hand, as research on the Web teaching material development support system, we have developed a framework that adds a quiz function to the already developed Web teaching material development framework using 360-degree VR videos. In addition, we plan to expand the framework that adds a quiz function to the Web teaching material development framework using 3D CG so that it can be applied to other than IoT security, and publish the results in a journal. Furthermore, regarding the Web teaching material development framework using 3D CG, we have added a function that makes it easier than before to develop Web teaching materials with an interactive editing function.

Development of MOOC teaching materials based on English SPOC teaching materials

We plan to develop MOOC teaching materials based on the English version of SPOC teaching materials. In response to the enhancement of the content in the previous section, we are creating a short video that summarizes the research results of WP1 to WP4, and in the future we will develop this content and create materials for MOOC lectures.

It is planned to start as.

Development of serious games using Unity 3D

The Indian side is playing a central role in the development of serious game teaching materials for learning cyber security provided by the Japanese side, and is designing and developing game teaching materials (RPG: role-playing game) using Unity 3D. In the future, we plan to integrate it with Moodle (LMS: Learning Management System) using the “Tin Can API (official name: Experience API)”. Therefore, we are adding a role play function to the web teaching material development framework using 3D CG, which we have been developing so far, so that the development of game teaching materials can be promoted independently on the Japanese side. This result will be published as a peer-reviewed treatise at the CISIS-2020 International Conference scheduled to be held in July 2020 (accepted).
