Cybersecurity Center concluded an agreement for cybersecurity with Fukuoka Prefectural Police on June 30th, 2017 with the aim of securing safety and security for the residents of the prefecture.

“Enhancement of cybersecurity” is an urgent issue for Japan, and “The Basic Act on Cybersecurity” has been established in 2014.
The mission of Cybersecurity Center, Kyushu University established on the 1st Dec. 2014 is advanced and stable education and research for Cybersecurity.
This Center has deep relationships with University of Maryland, Baltimore Country (UMBC) and other foreign universities for developing education program and course for Cybersecurity. In addition, we also collaborate domestic companies and institutes. We will carry out cybersecurity research and education on a sustainable basis by finding a broad range of new issues related to cybersecurity and resolving them with cooperating organizations both in Japan and abroad.
In Fukuoka, the threat of cyber space is getting worse, such as cyber crime (ex. illegal remittance offenses related to internet banking), cyber attacks aimed at government agencies or private business operators and so on.
In order to deal with these issue, we need the cooperation with industries and academic institutions, which have latest technology and information about cybersecurity threat.
Therefore, four organizations including Cybersecurity Center, Kyuhsu University respectively concluded an agreement for cybersecurity with Fukuoka Prefectural Police with the aim of securing safety and security for the residents of the prefecture.
